Urinary incontinence is a troublesome disorder which may significantly reduce the quality of life. Usually, the problem occurs while lifting weights and coughing or upon significant physical effort. Sometimes, it may occur immediately after waking up when getting out of bed.
Why is it so? Usually, urinary incontinence is caused by vaginal widening and weakening of pelvic floor muscles following childbirth. Another factor consists in menopause when changes in hormone levels and collagen synthesis result in reduced muscle tone.
What does the procedure involve? The laser beam introduced into the vagina using a special probe strengthens the vaginal wall and the urethral outlet region. In result, the urethral angle is changed and urethra returns to its normal function.
The procedure is absolutely painless and lasts only about 5-10 minutes. Patients may resume daily activities immediately after the procedure.
- Contraction of pelvic floor muscles
- Vaginal wall strengthening
- Vaginal wall firming
- Normalization of urethral function
All the above effects contribute to restoration of normal function of the urogenital system and thus to an improvement in the quality of patient’s life.
