Scar removal

Problem

Regular scars, keloids, hypertrophic scars, atrophic scars – face and body.

Target group

Scars, or non-aesthetic remainders of different types of skin damage pose a problem for many individuals. They may develop as a result of injuries, surgical procedures, burns, or the history of chickenpox or acne. Scar formation is a natural stage of the wound healing process, where the damaged dermis is being replaced with fibrotic connective tissue. The color and structure of that tissue is markedly different than that of healthy tissue, and therefore large and well-visible scars are a considerable aesthetic problem and may be the source of complexes.

If scar lesions cause physical or emotional discomfort (particularly when located in visible places), appropriate treatment is recommended. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology and appropriate treatment techniques available at Medicus Self, it is possible to significantly reduce or completely obliterate the existing scars.

Types of scars

Regular scars are formed as a result of prolonged healing of trauma or surgery wound. Initially, scars are blueish red, hard, thickened, and may burn or itch. Over time, they become brighter and softer, gradually less visible, and non-itching.

Hypertrophic scars are the results of improper healing, e.g. postoperative infection or wound scratching. They are broad, hard, and non-flexible.

Atrophic scars look like small depressions and are formed as a result of acne or chickenpox. In both cases, the healing process takes an improper course and the organism does not produce sufficient quantities of connective tissue, resulting in visible tissue defects.

Keloids develop after wound healing and are usually larger than the damaged skin area. They are characterized by hard, protruding, smooth and shiny surface. Usually, keloids are red in color and accompanied by itching and pain.
