Vaginal dryness is a common problem which markedly impacts the quality of their sexual experience. Usually, the problem reported by menopausal women who experience changes in their hormonal metabolism
What does the procedure look like? A specially designed probe facilitating irradiation of the entire mucosal membrane is introduced into the vagina. The laser exerts its effect along the entire length of the vagina. Pulsed emission stimulates the mucosal membrane and triggers fibroblasts to produce elastin, hyaluronic acid, and collagen fibers. As a consequence, tissue thickness and hydration are improved.
The effects do not take long to appear. First changes in hydration may be observed as early as several days after the procedure. The effect may persist for up to one year and depends on the condition of the patient before the procedure.
Number of procedures
The optimum effect may be achieved as early as after a single procedure, albeit repeated procedure may be necessary. Such a need is determined during the follow-up visit with the specialist.
Patients may resume sexual activity as soon as one week after the procedure. Following symptoms may be observed following the procedure, usually to subside within several days: Symptoms
– slight discomfort during the first days after the procedure,
– slight effusion (serous).
Every procedure is preceded by gynecological consultation. In addition, results of a current cytological examination should be presented.
